Jane Doe's statement to Cornell campus police obtained by ABC News

What the coverage shows

Both outlets center on Jane Doe’s statement to Cornell campus police, and both present it as a key document in the Cornell frat case. ABC News says it obtained the original statement and foregrounds the “harrowing night” description, while The Independent’s headline foregrounds the quoted line about rape and its extract adds that the Tompkins County district attorney said he was never shown the transcript before deciding not to press charges.
