Alberta is voting on staying in Canada. Here's a look at other separatist movements.

What the coverage shows

Both CBS News and 60 Minutes frame the story around Alberta’s vote and the question of separation from Canada. CBS News focuses more narrowly on why Albertans are voting, adding the detail that around 20% want formal separation, while 60 Minutes broadens the angle by explicitly comparing Alberta with other separatist movements in Canada and around the world.
