Trump rushes to back Vivek Ramaswamy over controversial ad and blasts Republicans criticizing it
‘Vivek should keep it up, and let everyone listen to the mother of a defective, dishonest, and incapable Candidate,’ Trump wrote
What the coverage shows
All of the coverage centers on Trump’s praise or defense of Ramaswamy’s ad and on the fact that the ad features Amy Acton’s estranged mother. NBC News, BBC News and CBS News foreground Acton’s condemnation, while CBS and NBC also emphasize criticism from family members and Ohio Gov. DeWine. AP, CNBC, CNN, PBS and The Independent focus more on Trump’s remarks, and only The Guardian US presents it as a live update on a widely criticized ad.
