Trump, candidates make final pitches as Election Day arrives

What the coverage shows

Both outlets treat the story as an Election Day roundup, with CBS News leading on Trump and candidates making final pitches and The Independent framing the day around control of Congress in Trump’s final two years. CBS’s extract is broad and national in scope, while The Independent is the only one that explicitly mentions the seat targets Democrats need to flip in the Senate and House.
