Oregon school shooter was former special needs student, police say

What the coverage shows

Both outlets identify the shooter as a former student at the Bend elementary school, and both foreground that the case involves four deaths. The Guardian US frames its headline around the shooter being a former student, while Al Jazeera keeps the police attribution in the headline and, in its extract, is the only outlet here to mention that a teacher fought the shooter and a parent shot him dead.
