Democrat Amy Acton wins Ohio’s race for governor
NBC News projects that Acton, the state’s former health director, has defeated Republican Vivek Ramaswamy to become Ohio’s first female elected governor.
What the coverage shows
All five outlets center on Xavier Becerra’s projected or reported win over Steve Hilton, with CBS News and Fox News also mentioning the race’s policy themes in their framing. NBC News is the only outlet quoted here to call Becerra a longtime fixture in state politics, while The Guardian alone foregrounds his promise to resist Trump’s agenda and notes he would be the state’s first Latino governor since 1875. Fox News is the only one still framing the contest as a live race in its headline.
